Beginning June 18 and continuing every Friday through the September, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, the block of Howard Street between Mitchell and Michigan Streets (between JC Penney’s and Julienne Tomatoes) will be closed off to welcome local producers and the bounty of fresh items that they have to offer. Stop by and find everything that you would need for a wonderful meal, from organic meats to fresh fruits and vegetables, and even flowers to finish off the table.

The mission of the Downtown Petoskey Farmers Market is to promote the image and economic development of Downtown Petoskey and economic development within the local agricultural community, as well as to give those who grow, fish, forage, and harvest a place to be rewarded for their efforts.

For more information, or to register as a vendor, please contact Becky Goodman at the Downtown Division of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce at 231-347-4150

The art world will descend upon Downtown Petoskey for its eleventh annual Gallery Walk. This evening of art and entertainment has definitely become a community tradition.

Participating art galleries will greet guests on the third Thursday in June, June 17, 2010, from 6:00 to 9pm in an open-house format and offer delights for your eyes, ears, and taste buds. Many of the galleries will have the artists present to introduce their works.
Gallery Walk Afterglow on the Veranda of
Stafford’s Perry Hotel

As a wonderful and exciting wrap up to the evening, art lovers will get a chance to win some fabulous art donated by the participating galleries. Each gallery that you visit during the evening earns you another dot on your walking map, and each dot earns you a ticket to go in the drawing. Additional tickets are earned with each purchase that you make. The tickets will then be drawn at the Afterglow Party in the Rose Garden at Stafford’s Perry Hotel. Thousands of dollars worth of art is given away each year.

Walking maps are free and will be available at the Petoskey Downtown Office, the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the participating galleries. So, get a babysitter, grab your friends, and stroll around Downtown Petoskey and soak up the cultured atmosphere.

Gallery Walk is sponsored by the galleries of Downtown Petoskey with the support of the Downtown Management Board and Crooked Tree Arts Center. Participating galleries in 2010 are: Arlington Jewelers, Crooked tree Arts Center Art Tree Sales Gallery, Mitchell Street Frameworks & Gallery, Northern Artists Market, Shadetree Stained Glass Studio, Stafford’s Gallery of Art and History, Valerie Fine Art Gallery, Ward & Eis Gallery, and WARD Gallery at Ciao Bella!
